In ruins : L’Aquila and Silvio Berlusconi ! In one hand : L’Aquila, devasted by an earthaquake two months ago. In the other and, a prime minister devasted by scandals and his divorce. In the middle of this battle fields : G8. Leaders of the eight most powerful countries (USA, Italy, Germany, Britain, Russia, Japan, Canada and France) were meeting wednesday. A meeting which permitted Berlusconi to forget his privates problems… and to make the show, once again.
This summit would permit Berlusconi to test his lead in these trouble times. To manage his goal, the prime minister has made a big show of moving the summit from its original venue on the island of Sardinia to L’Aquila, in the mountains of central Italy, as a gesture of support for the region.
A good way for Belrlusconi to restore his image. Now, he has to discuss about serious things (such as Iran, environment, global crisis) with the other country… without sending a bullet to the this other leaders : in this game, he’s the challenger !
